Hard Drive Data Security

Did you know that your personal and financial data could be accessed and used illegally?

Securely destroy all information before you sell or dispose of your PC!

Many people don't realize that all the data that is stored in their PC can be accessed long after it's been sent to PC Heaven.
This is because everything that you do on your PC gets stored on the hard drive.

The 'hard drive' on your computer is like the 'storage' in an filing cabinet - everything that you do gets 'filed' onto it - and when it's time to change your PC you really need to 'empty out' the filing cabinet, otherwise someone else could go through the information and use it for their own purposes.
This may seem unlikely or far-fetched, but buying up hard drives in order to 'steal' usable data is on the increase - and both individuals and companies alike are increasingly vulnerable

Don't dispose of an old PC with a hard drive that still might contain confidential information, such as credit card and national insurance numbers, legal, financial or medical records, or any other data that you would prefer to keep private. Before you let go of that disk, erase the data thoroughly and leave that drive clean as a whistle!

The only safe and secure disk drive is a sterilized drive, and we can provide simple but complete drive cleaning to the highest security standards. Certified DOD 5220.22-M standard

Q: Why can’t I just delete the files and flush the recycle bin?

A: This hides the data from the operating system, but it is still on the platters and can be easily recovered by someone with the right equipment and knowledge.

Q: What is the DoD standard you mention?

A: This is a manual for government contractors and suppliers, called DoD 5220.22-M. It is issued by the Department of Defence and contains security guidelines for companies doing business with the US Government.
